Taxi of Tomorrow to Hit NYC Streets
When people think of the cutting edge technology that’s driving innovation, they normally think of tablets and televisions, spacecraft and computer programs. Rarely does one think of taxi cabs, but that’s exactly what New York City and Nissan are hoping will drive the innovation of the future with their Taxi o Tomorrow campaign.
Last year, Nissan and Mayor Bloomberg announced that the automaker had won the contract to improve the aging taxi system in a city that is so heavily reliant on it. This week, they unveiled a first glimpse into the interior that will feature television, computer connections, and cup holders (which we never noticed were missing from taxis until this story hit our radar).
