Connectivity

The Corsair HS60 headphones do not have a Bluetooth connection and are thus corded. When connected to a PC or PS4 with a USB Type-A connector, these headphones may receive audio. The Corsair HS60 has a wired connection that allows for volume control and microphone compatibility with consoles when plugged into Xbox One or PlayStation 4 controllers. They also include a USB adaptor for PCs that allows for improved surround sound and works with both the PS4 and the Xbox One. The standard 1/8″ TRRS cable, on the other hand, will operate with both consoles.

A wired connection is not possible with the HS70. They include a USB dongle that works with both PC and PS4. Sadly, there is no method to connect the HS70 to the Xbox One right now. Corsair HS70

Microphone

Corsair HS60

The type of microphone that the Corsair HS60 uses is a boom-type. The boom microphone is also detachable. The microphone on the HS60 provides adequate recording quality. Due to an overemphasis in the treble band, recorded/transmitted voice sounds notably thin and brilliant. To whoever is on the other end of the connection, however, your voice is still audible and detailed.

The HS60’s boom microphone excels in noise cancellation. In the SpNR test, it had a speech-to-noise ratio of 29dB. In most situations, this implies it can completely differentiate speech from background noise. However, in highly noisy environments, such as a metro station, they may suffer a little.

Corsair HS70

Just like the HS60’s, the Corsair HS70 uses a boom-type microphone with a detachable boom microphone.

The microphone on the HS70 produces mediocre recordings. The LFE of 523Hz results in a thin and brilliant sounding recorded/transmitted voice. The HFE of 6.5KHz is higher than typical, implying that speech will be clear and detailed. The responsiveness between the LFE and HFE points is good, but it will sound a little too bright due to the treble overemphasis.

Comfort

The Corsair HS60 gaming headphones are lightweight and comfy. The ear cups are spacious and will comfortably fit around most ears, while the headband is well padded and does not feel too tight on the head. They do not, however, include a channel mixing dial or a cable with an in-line remote for use with your phone, which is disappointing. On the plus side, all of the controls are simple to operate and provide decent tactile input.

The game control layout on the HS70 is quite straightforward. Most gamers won’t mind the lack of a call and music management button, and they’ll like the volume wheel and mic-mute button. Unfortunately, no LED indicates that the microphone is muted, and the mute mic button does not give as much tactile input as the HS60’s.
